"REAL TALK" + COLLAGE WORKSHOP + STUDIO RESIDENCY, September 2012, at theGRID: hybrid arts collective ~ Level 1, 488 Ruthven St, Toowoomba (now expired) (with Kelly Marie McEwan + Oh Darling Downs)
Danish Quapoor's REAL TALK was a hilarious, heartwarming, genius, selfcongratulatory insight into what inspires the artist, along with a documentation slash mockumentation of the processes and concepts that led to Danish's solo exhibition 'humanimal'. Q&A with gridscoutleader Alison Mooney playing Tony Jones. (Really). (Not really). Danish's COLLAGE WORKSHOP encouraged children and adults to find inspiration in found materials, and included tips to effectively cut and paste physical materials + paper imagery. "I'll be teaching some of my processes, including collages and wall drawings. Maybe you can teach me some things, about life. I'll provide some materials, but if you have these laying around or standing by themselves awkwardly in the corner, definitely bring: magazines, encyclopaedias, cat books, scissors, glue, pens and whiteboard markers." > You heard the man. BYO cat books, you cannot have any of his.
