delphic

KEPK space | Melt festival
25 October - 27 October 2024
KEPK | Unit J2/241 Station Road, Yeerongpilly, Brisbane, QLD, Australia 4105
delphic was presented by Melt. The Melt Development Program was supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland. Melt is an open access festival of Queer art and culture which premiered in Brisbane/Magandjin 23 Oct - 10 Nov 2024.

delphic presented selected works from North Queensland based artist Danish Quapoor's good grief series, alongside complementary new works. These included illustrative biomorphic paintings on shaped, stretched paper, and an abstract animation. The exhibited fluid forms illuminated the artist’s interrogation of shifting personal identity, familial relationships and grievances, and otherness within heteronormative regional contexts. These themes were layered with ambiguity, humour and misdirection. The works were also unified by their style, ostensible simplicity and sparse compositions.
